The Consultation Process
Our nurse practitioner will:
-
Review the patient’s medical history in collaboration with the injector
-
Assess the proposed treatment plan for appropriateness and safety, and adjust as needed
-
Provide authorization for medical directives and/or direct orders in the patient’s chart
-
Answer patient questions regarding their treatment
-
Prescribe necessary adjunct medications for treatment
-
Offer ongoing support for inquiries or adverse events
Following the consultation, medical directives are typically valid for one year unless the patient’s medical status or treatment plan changes. In some cases, direct orders may be issued based on individual patient needs for a specified duration.
